For the 2018 MSS Annual Meeting, undergraduates may choose from one of two submission types:

  • a poster or
  • a round table presentation.

Enter ALL undergrad poster and round table submissions through the submission portal.
NOTE:  You will not submit your full poster or presentation through the portal – only an abstract.
Jan. 10 – deadline for undergraduate poster and round table submissions.

Directions for using the submission portal

COLLECT/COMPOSE INFORMATION about your submission, sponsor, co-authors:
  • Read the descriptions below and decide: round table or poster?
  • Compose your title in your word-processing program, ready to paste into the portal.
  • Compose your abstract [150 words max] in your word-processing program, ready to paste into portal. [Please DON’T try to compose inside the portal.]
  • Edit your abstract carefully. Your work reflects your scholarship and helps organizers place your individual submission in a session.
  • Have on hand the name, school, and email of your faculty sponsor; and the names, affiliations, and emails of your co-author, if any.

Please complete the steps above first! Once you enter the portal, you must complete your submission in one sitting –or abort and begin again later. You will not be able to re-enter the portal to complete or edit an incomplete submission.

NAVIGATING inside the portal:

  • Use small green arrows to move from page to page.
  • Use green plus signs to add people as requested.
  • On the final screen inside the portal, you will have the opportunity to proofread the data you submitted, and correct it.
  • After you check/correct all data, you MUST click the large green check mark to SUBMIT.

CONFIRMATION after you submit:

  • After you click the large green check mark to SUBMIT, a confirmation email will be sent to you within 3 hours.
  • Forward your confirmation email to your advisor, co-authors, co-presenters, if any.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email in your inbox within three hours, please check your spam or junk mail file.  If no email has arrived, it is your responsibility to follow up with the program chairs to find out what happened.  You can email the program chair at [email protected].
